On Wednesday April 17th The Lions Club of Land O’Lakes presented Lois Emond with the Melvin Jones Award. This is the first time the club has awarded this prestigious trophy to a non-Lion. It is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. Lois represents qualities such as generosity, compassion and concern for the less fortunate. Lois not only runs the Food Bank in Cloyne but has donated a beautiful quilt she made to raise funds for the Emergency Shelter in the Lions Hall in Northbrook. The winning ticket will be drawn on May 1st by Lois.
