Accident closes Hwy 7
On
the morning of Friday January 23, an
accident closed Hwy. 7 in both directions for most of the day, causing
major inconvenience to motorists. No one was injured in the incident,
which occurred at 4:30 a.m. at the Salmon River bridge on Hwy 7, just
west of the Arden & Henderson Road turns. Two transports, both
eastbound, collided when the lead transport went out of control.
Police rerouted eastbound traffic at Kaladar onto Hwy #41, and
westbound vehicles at Sharbot Lake onto County Road #38, and brought
in a crane to remove the two transports and debris. The highway did
not reopen until late evening.
