Well grab a coffee and let’s share what's fit to print! Recently he folks over at the Arden Legion’s open mic—which happens every second Saturday of the month—got treated to Neil Purchase and Marilyn Tellier in full costume blasting out an earth-shaking rendition of “The Little Space Girl.” My word, it practically launched the whole crowd right into a brand-new orbit!
Speaking of keeping the toes tapping, those Harlowe open mics with Roy Bradshawe and the folks are still going strong every single month. They’ve been serving up rocking tunes and getting folks waltzing all the way from Plevna to Harlowe and clear on beyond!
The Nine North Golf Course in Cloyne got a record crowd of eighty fine folks who showed up to colour the course in a literal rainbow of hues for a golf day that was absolutely bursting at the seams with laughter, community spirit, and a whole lot of fun. And get this—between the registration fees, the raffle tickets, and some incredibly generous donations, they raised over $2,300! That tidy sum is being split right down the middle to help out the Kaladar Barrie Fire Department Toy Drive and the Land O' Lakes Community Services Christmas Hampers. God bless 'em!
Finally, we might not be lying awake at night worrying about Artificial Intelligence locking us out of our own refrigerators, but we did get a proper scare the other day. A mama bear and her two growing cubs decided to play welcoming committee for us Bordenwood walkers, and let me tell you, it got us all shook up! We all need keep our eyes peeled out there—make sure you're carrying a whistle and a mighty big stick. Years back, upon seeing a bear I was so utterly paralyzed with fear that I couldn't have whistled if my life depended on it, and I came mighty close to wetting my pants right then and there!
