ATVclub rides for CampTrililum andNorthFrontenac Fire Department

The Ottawa Valley ATV Club rides mostly in the Ompah area, and each year the club holds a Charity Ride for Camp Trillium, a camp for children with cancer. This ride is open to the public and anyone with an ATV can participate.

Camp Trillium currently has two locations in Ontario the closest one is in Picton. They receive no federal or provincial funding and they survive on donations from individuals, groups, and money raised at events like the Ottawa Valley ATV ride. For more info on Camp Trillium please visit: www.camptrillium.com

The ride will be held on September 8, and will start from 1018 Folger Road, RR#1 Ompah. Registration is between 8 and 10 a.m. and the cost is $20 per bike (or at least $20 worth of pledges). There will be a BBQ -hamburgers $2, hot dogs $1, drinks $1, and there will be prize draws, a raffle, and a 50/50 draw during the BBQ. The entry fee includes one hot dog or hamburger and one drink at the BBQ, and enters you into the draw for awesome prizes!!

For anyone who hasn’t been on the Charity Run before it is a day to get out for an enjoyable ride with fellow ATV’ers and raise money for a great cause in the process. Last year 158 bikes, and almost 200 people attended the event, with over $8,300 being raised.

The club donates 100% of the proceeds raised to charity. They are very fortunate to have great sponsors and businesses/members of the community who pick up the costs of running the event and donate prizes.

The majority of the money raised will be donated to Camp Trillium. A small portion of the money raised will be donated to the North Frontenac Volunteer Fire Department. The club tries to donate a small amount to a local non-profit organization each year.

This is the Ottawa Valley ATV Club’s 7th annual charity ride. To date they have raised well over $25,000 for charity. Their goal is to do the best they can, but they would love to exceed last year’s total of $8,300.
