Empire B Junior C League scoring champion, Jason Dasilva, of the Frontenac Flyers was named the Most Valuable Player in the league at the annual post-season awards dinner. Dasilva had a breakout season and finished first on the team and in the league with 81 points, 46 goals and 35 assists in 38 games. He had points on 57 per cent of the Flyers goals this season and directly scored 32 per cent of them. Dasilva’s desire, motivation and leadership, along with his speed and skill helped the Flyers in their rebuilding year. Jason had to be unselfish and he had to be able to keep a positive attitude regardless of personal or team success or failure. The other nominees for MVP were Kyle Brooks from the Colborne Cobras, Chris Lewis from the Napanee Raiders and Brad Weese from the Amherstview Jets.

Dasilva is also the league’s nominee for the OHA Player of the Year award, which will be held at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto in June. Good Luck Jason!
