Area Rating
The planned discussion of area rating was deferred to the next Committee of the Whole at the request of Councillor Fillion, who has been away for the past several meetings. Fillion stated he had not had time to review the material and prepare for the debate. "We can’t be expected to stop everything just because you go on holidays," blurted Mayor Davison.
Building Department Vacancy
In spite of an extensive report from Chief Building Official Alan Revill explaining the need to fill a full-time department vacancy, Council agreed to only a temporary position, pending further information. CAO Burns noted that the Building Department is self-financing, as its expenses are covered by permit fees.
Green Energy Act
A memo from Alan Revill reminded Council that the anticipated imminent passing of the ‘09 Green Energy Act and its attendant regulations will require preparation of an energy conservation and demand management plan for all township-owned buildings, a report of proposed energy conservation measures, and follow-up reports.
