The Clothes for Kids program, run by Corus Entertainment of Kingston, is up and going. The program will outfit approximately 2000 kids in the Kingston, Kaladar, Napanee, Odessa (all of Lennox and Addington County) area and ensure that they have a warm jacket and snow pants. Applicants must be 12 years and under. Size 16 is the maximum size available.
Applications are available at the Kaladar, Napanee, and Loyalist OPP detachments, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Mon-Fri. Please bring photo ID and proof that you are the legal guardian of the child (health card, benefits card). Please don't guess at the child’s size; be specific. The deadline for applications is November 13.
Monday Oct. 26 - Dec 4: Call 546-1-KID. Phone lines will be open for the community to call and donate either money or new snowsuits to the program. Also, the OPP will gladly accept donations of new snowsuits at any of the three local detachments.
The OPP will notify applicants once the snowsuits are ready for pick up in early December. For more information please call Constable Perry at 613-354-3369 x 6755 or Jackie Caverley at Corus Entertainment, 613-544-2340 x 361.
