I have recently found out that St. Valentine’s Day has acquired a few new names to insure inclusivity of all in this celebration of love. Our community has made sure to celebrate the occasion in all its different forms, from Valentine Dinners to Galentine Dances.
However, the name that attracted my attention the most was referring to the day as Friendship Day.
Friendship, or as we refer to it in Lions, Fellowship, is one of our three pillars. It is through Fellowship that we enhance our membership experiences and develop a sense of belonging to our clubs, in particular, and our association, in general.
This month, Fellowship never felt stronger, as our club celebrated receiving the Club Excellence Award for 2022-2023; as well as awarding one of our wonderful members, Debbie Robillard, the Melvin Jones Award, and a Tile for Leader Dogs to Gary Shortt.
While service and the desire to support the community, always stems from the heart of every Lion, celebrating achievements is a collective joy that the entire club feels and rejoices about.
What are the other pillars of Lions? Now those are topics for future Roars.
Till we meet again in a Roar, prepare your lucky charms, fill up your pots of gold, keep a light heart, and head to the Lions Club of Land O’Lakes on the 16th of March for a dance where leprechauns have prepared some magic green drinks for all.
