I was preparing a post about how our office is not open to the public right now when I read online that the province is shutting down all "non-essential" businesses until April 13.

We won't know what is considered essential until tomorrow (Tuesday) but we are still preparing a paper for this week. According to our printing company, which is owned by one of the major news chains, Metroland, media companies are considered essential services, and we heard the same from our newspaper association, so we expect to be publishing on Thursday as normal. We will be posting on this site on a regular basis as well, so look here for updates. We will be posting shortly about about grocery store and takeout restaurant services that are available, in addition to municipal services, and medical. Also we will be telling stories about some of our neighbours who have been stepping up to help out.

Meanwhile, we are working with a skeleton staff, remotely as much as possible. We are following the protocols from KFL&A Public Health as far as how we handle the newspapers when they come back from the printers.. Like everyone else, we know that sanitation protocols are everything now.

These are interesting times indeed.
