Mar 20, 2024
For the entire month of April, the MERA Weavers will have their work on display at the MERA Schoolhouse. You are invited to join us at MERA for the show’s opening event on April 7h.
The MERA Weavers are delighted to introduce our latest rug study exhibit. In 2003, the weavers group was started by Ellen Good and Ankaret Dean. Later the members adopted their own techniques to the heritage format. The group continues to grow since their humble beginnings in 2003. With a Weaving studio now equipped with 7 different looms, their newly renovated studio is busy throughout the year.
“What unites us is our love of weaving; what binds us is the support, encouragement and knowledge we provide to each other. We are motivated by our desire to learn traditional methods. Last but not least, our lunches and fun get-togethers are always enjoyed.
The theme of the exhibit, “Roll out the Rugs” is a collection with the intention to reflect heritage expressed in a modern approach. We welcome you to our exhibition and hope that you enjoy it!”
You are invited to join The MERA Weavers at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald’s Corners (974 Dalhousie Concession 9A) on Sunday April 7th from 2 to 4PM to meet the artists, view their works and purchase that “must have” piece. To arrange to see the exhibition at times other than the Meet the Artist event, please contact Wayne Stryde This email address is being protected from spambots.
