Paragraph 3. “Shane Peters came with a request for the township to participate in supporting emergency services policing and provicial funding for hospital upgrades. However, council advised him that these programs were a provincial matter, not municipal”
The policing request was withdrawn as council recently addressed it at the police services board meeting prior to the council meeting. Secondly the funding request was to support the request asked of Kingston for the 25% municipal required funds to get the grant from the government for the upgrade. Council stated that normal this is a request that comes to the county and they have looked into it. At no time has this ever been a provincial responsibility.
