I would like to address this to the writer of the editorial piece( (Jemma Dooreleyers) I’m certain this is not going to be the only comment / complaint you receive about the article on the front page about the bail release of Mathew Splinter.

Although the article it self is fine and informational, the picture that was chosen to accompany this article is nothing short of offensive and upsetting.

Why on earth would such a picture of this man already accused of impaired driving causing death ( manslaughter is another word for this), be used ….

Smiling without a care in the world?

I did not know these three young people who were killed by his negligence, but as a parent I felt sickened by this picture.

I can only imagine how deeply disturbing it is for their parents and friends, and the entire community actually to see this picture accompanying the article.

It is reprehensible in my opinion and deserves an apology to all readership.
