This election is a fight for Canada’s survival against a USA take over. I believe that Pierre Poilievre is  an open door to Canada for Trump.

I know-- Poilievre has told Trump that Canada will never join the US, and to back off on tariffs, right? Despite his recent words, Pierre Poilievre’s previous words and actions, and his supporters, tell the truth. 1. He praised Trump’s initiative when Trump was only talking about taking over the country of Panama and Denmark’s Greenland. Those were okay. 2. He has the hat. There are many photos of his supporters, including campaign manager, Jenni Byrne, wearing the Make America Great Again --MAGA/Trump hat. 3. Elon Musk has publicly endorsed Poilievre. 4. The Conservative premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith, told the USA in March, in public, that Poilievre was their guy. 5. His January fundraiser was at the 26,000 sq ft mansion of Sharon & Aaron Stern, majority owners of Medical Fa cilities Corp, which owns four private, for profit hospitals in the USA. (Do we want “for-profit healthcare”?).

Some people think Poilievre is a common guy, not from rich roots, someone whom we can relate to. Let’s look at that. Poilievre has never worked on a farm, has never worked with his hands. He has never worked in a factory, in construction, or in a trade. (Perhaps that’s why he voted against unions rights several times with “back to work” legislation, and “right to work” to weaken unions, and Bill C525 to make it easy to decertify unions.

He also voted for Bill C377 to demand the private banking information of union leaders.)

Poilievre has never worked with the elderly or with children. (He voted against Old Age Security supplements for impoverished seniors and against school lunches for children.)

He hasn’t worked with Canadian law as a lawyer, but all the other federal leaders have. He hasn’t guided two countries through economic crises, as Carney has.

Poilievre joined the Reform party at age 14, and his part-time jobs were canvassing, phone calling for Telus, and other political work for the extreme far right.

In this time of the USA threatening our right to be a country, we need to bond together. Here, Michelle Foxton has been endorsed across party lines: by Dr. Alan Drummond, a lifelong Conservative, by the local Green Party, by key NDP advocates, by a Mayor and various councilors. Foxton is collaborative, and will work with people across the aisle to represent the issues of Lanark-Frontenac.

We must bypass party colours this time.- J Jerreat
