I hear and read many complaints about the state of the roads in Central Frontenac Township, but I’d like to put in a good word. I usually take Ducharme Road as the fastest route from my home on Long Lake Road into Sharbot Lake, except in the winter when I have found it too snow-covered and icy. This year has been markedly different. Ducharme Road has been promptly cleared and sanded every time I have needed to use it. (It has been even better groomed than Long Lake Road. Hint! Hint!) Having had my first accident in 40 years on the first snow day of this winter due to ice on Bell Line Road, I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the crews who work day and night to make our roads as safe as possible.
