At the AH council meeting of June 1, Mr. Ed Yanch, well known former school principal and long time teacher, made a presentation in favour of the proposed wind turbine project in Ward 1. Mr. Yanch is certainly entitled to his opinion but his presentation was regrettable. In his presentation Mr. Yanch stooped to implying that Ward 1 property owners fearful of the consequences of the turbine project are Nimbys. Such a tactic is divisive in the extreme and not at all helpful. Ward 1 property owners could potentially lose 25 to 55% of their property values if turbines are installed. Attacking Ward 1 residents facing grievous financial loss from an unaffected perch in Ward 2 is a low blow and it certainly doesn't further the pro turbine argument.
Nice touch Mr. Yanch. We expected better of you.
