With broken hearts and great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Olive at Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital (Perth Site) on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, surrounded by her family and just shy of her 95th birthday. Olive was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Allen. Olive is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children; Dennis (Joanne), Cathy (Doug), Cheryl (Darwyn), Barb (Dave), Brenda (Craig). Olive was predeceased by her son, Richard (Cheryl). She was the cherished Nannie of Sherry (Darryl), Brooke (Nelson), Sarah (Jesse), Brandy and Isabelle and cherished Great Nan to Grayson, Maddox, and Copper. She was a special Grandmother to Jonathan, Ashley and family, Chris, Danielle and families. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Olive had a wonderful and supportive group of friends that were very important to her. Olive was born in Oxford Mills, Ontario on June 21,1929, to Isaac Gordon Charles Lusk and Minnie Olive Lusk (McFadden). She was the oldest of seven children with her siblings (all now deceased); Harold, Dorothy, Irene, Lois, Shirley and Gordon.

Olive was active in her community. She was a founding member of the South Palmerston Community Centre now known as Snow Road Community Centre. Olive was a lifetime member of the Sharbot Lake United Church Women. She also canvassed for many years for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Olive was a long-time resident of Mississippi Station, Ontario until 2022 when she moved to Sharbot Lake Retirement Home. Olive made time for so many. We will remember her love, faith, friendship and service.

The family received friends at the Goodfellow’s Funeral Home, Parham on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 12-1pm. A Celebration of her life followed at the Sharbot Lake United Church on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 1:00pm. Interment of ashes will take place at Crawford Cemetery.
