Anna (Zdanowicz) Kot passed away at the Friendly Manor, Deseronto on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Kazimierz Kot (2008). Anna was born in Minsk, Belarus on January 1, 1927. She arrived in Canada from Germany aboard the Cunard Samaria in 1949 with her 2 year old son Jan. Anna is survived by her children Jan Kot (Barbara Miller), Peterborough; Maria Hunt (Michael) Napanee, Helena Kot (late Don MacLennan) Portage La Prairie MB; Teresa Azzolin (Ty) Ajax and Lucy Frehner (Marty) Flinton. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Anna will be greatly missed by her entire family and friends. She had made many sacrifices over the years in order to make a life for herself and her family. She worked at many places over the years including the Veneer Plant in Tweed, Pheasant Farm at Flinton and also worked at Kimberley Lodge at one point. She enjoyed being outside with the farm animals, especially her cows and the numerous cats that appeared at the farm. Her gardens were her pride and joy. She grew the best garlic around and made many preserves for the winter months, not letting anything go to waste. She will now be growing her garlic in the giant vegetable garden in Heaven. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. John Catholic Church in Flinton on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Friendly Manor for the wonderful care given to Anna over the last five years.
