Nov 20, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Matthew James Robinson, age 47, on November 15, 2024. A loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, and loyal friend, Matthew was taken from us too soon, leaving a void that can never be filled.
Born on October 7, 1977, Matthew was a beacon of light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He married his beloved wife, Kelly (née Scriven), on May 19, 2019, and together they created a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Matthew was a dedicated father to their precious daughter, Gwyneth Lucy Addison, who was the centre of his universe. His playful spirit and gentle heart made him an extraordinary dad, and his love for Gwyneth will forever be a part of her.
Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Kelly; his daughter, Gwyneth; his parents, Wayne and Alison Robinson; his brothers, Dave (Laura) and Spencer; and his cherished nephews, Parker and Grayson, as well as his nieces, Vivian, George, and Betty. He also leaves behind sisters and brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
Matthew had an extraordinary ability to bring people together. His infectious laughter, warm smile, and unwavering support impacted everyone he encountered. Whether through his work, community involvement, or simply as a friend, he made a lasting impression on those around him.
Friends may visit on Monday November 25, 2024 from 11am to 12:50pm at James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd). A Memorial Service in honor of Matthew’s life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 1:00 PM at James Reid Funeral Home in Kingston, Ontario, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Matthew’s name to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Rest in peace, Matthew. Your love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
