With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Michelle B. Matney (Clancy) on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the age of 37. After a long battle with multiple health issues and this latest fight with cancer, she peacefully went to sleep surrounded by friends and family, which is a true testament to the wonderful woman she was.
Michelle was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, friend and so much more. She will be forever remembered by her husband, Robert Matney; their son, Theodore Matney; father, Carson Clancy; siblings, Keith (Tori) Clancy, Amanda Clancy, Tina Reia, Lisa (Jeff) Brown and Sheri (Kevin) Noble, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Bob. She also leaves behind other aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews/nieces, and countless friends whose lives she’s forever touched. She was predeceased by grandparents, Gerald and Mildred Clancy, and cousin, Travis Goddard. Although her life was cut short, Michelle spent the time she had as a devout Christian and passionately followed God’s way of life. She was an incredible homemaker – canning, sewing, cooking and creating a nurturing environment. She found much pleasure in reading and writing. She had immense love for her family, especially her son Theo and nephews, Carter and Jackson.
She was the definition of a living sacrifice, who even until her last moments was only concerned for those around her. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering
The family will receive friends at the Milestone Funeral Center, Northbrook on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and Monday from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12:00pm. Interment will take place at the Henderson Cemetery. Friends desiring may contribute in her memory to the “Trust Fund” for little Theodore with appreciation. (E-transfers can be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots.
