It is with great sadness that the family of Norman (Norm) Cunningham announce his sudden passing on Friday, February 6, 2026, in Arden, Ontario. Norm will be extremely missed by family and friends and is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley; his two children, Spencer and Rebecca; his son-in-law, Chris; his grandson, William; and his cherished sister, Karen.

Norm was a dedicated and familiar presence in the many communities he resided in over the years. He volunteered at the Napanee figure skating club for his daughter, supported his son’s hockey for the Napanee Stars, and was always involved in school events. Even after those busy years, he continued to lend a helping hand to neighbours and friends whenever he could. Norm believed in showing up for others, and his kindness and generosity touched many lives.

Norm dedicated 39 years as a letter carrier with Canada Post, a job he took great pride in. Throughout Norm’s life, he enjoyed curling at the Avonlea Curling Club in North York, fishing and spending peaceful hours out on the lake, playing darts at the Legion, and playing cards with his close friends. He especially loved being at the cottage, where he could often be found feeding the birds and chipmunks, even naming one regular visitor “Hoover,” who seemed to return just to spend time with him.

A celebration of Norm’s life will be held in the spring, with details to be shared at a later date. Donations in Norm’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, a cause close to the family’s hearts.
