Ghost and Goblins at Picadillyby Bob Teal

There was no shortage of “Ghosts and Goblins” at the Central Frontenac District Four Recreation Committee Annual Halloween Party. The Piccadilly Community Hall and Fire Station Number Two barely accommodated over 70 thrill seekers at the annual event. The Haunted House was just that: “HAUNTED”. Those who said they weren’t frightened just a little should run for politics. There were many unexpected surprises in the pitch-black house and the screaming was non-stop.

During the thrills of the Haunted House, everyone was also invited on a wagon ride through the hamlet chauffeured by the always thoughtful Bill Lee and his back up driver extraordinaire Larry Wisteard. Committee member David Raymond added to the comic relief of the evening, assisting with the Magic Act showing the crowd why men shouldn’t wear seashell bras and tutus; he almost lost his head because of it.There was no shortage of treats, prizes and novelty activities for the children.

Many, many thanks to the committee members for their continuing efforts to make District Four the best place to raise your children. As the evening faded and the children reluctantly had to leave Fantasy Land and head home, there were promises, and to quote a phrase “We’ll Be Back”.
