NAEC Vice
Principal, Angela Salmond, accepts the genreous donation of Art books
donated by Carol and Robert Cox, in memory of the late Mrs Doris
McCauley
A very generous donation by Carol and Robert Cox of Kaladar of $1400 worth of art books was made to the Art Department at North Addington in early June. The gift was made in memory of Carol Cox’s mother, the late Doris McCauley, who loved to paint. Mrs. McCauley worked in charcoal, painting with palate knives, oils, water colour, and even ran a successful business painting silk scarves. Unfortunately as her eyesight failed, she gave up the silk painting, but continued to paint with water colour until she passed away. “My mother used her books as an inspiration, to learn from and sometimes solve a problem she was having with her work.” said Carol Cox, “I hope these books will help young artists and inspire them to learn and grow.”
Let the music play... Ms. Kora Kamps and
Mrs Bev Blackwell
The staff and students at North Addington Education Centre wish to gratefully acknowledge and thank Bev Blackwell and the late Tom Blackwell and the many people who made donations to the Music Department in Tom’s memory. It was Tom’s request that any money donated be made to the Music Department at North Addington. There is no finer legacy one can leave–investing in our students guarantees that Tom’s love of music will live on and our community will continue to benefit as it has throughout Tom’s lifetime from his generosity, talent and compassion.
