A lighter Roar today:

I woke up with a memory of a jumbled dream. I was golfing in the morning, and barbecuing in the evening. I was running like a headless chicken trying to remember if I used my grilling tools as golfing bats while wearing a golfer’s hat!

According to Freud, dreams are wish lists of our minds. So am I really wishing to one day learn to golf? Or, am I dreaming of a day when I would be able to grill without burning half the meal? Hard to think either is true. While a believer in Freud’s theories in general, I think I will disagree here and go with a much simpler explanation of my dream: our club has been endlessly talking about the upcoming Annual Golf Tournament and the first of a kind Ribfest, and, the mind, ruler of all our dreams, must have decided to continue with its own story line; placing me in golfer’s hat with grilling bats!

So I will allow my mind to stop its nightly rants by putting it out there, I will help on the 10th of August at the Golf Tournament, I will also do my share on the 17th of August at the Ribfest; but I will not be caught awake in a golfer’s hat carrying grilling bats; and that is my final stance.

I guess, and to be fair, my mind could have added me running after an Ace of Spades!

Now, and just to bring in a bit of seriousness to a rather light Roar, I would like to add that service, our Lions motto in life, can start at any age; and recently we saw several youngsters around town performing acts of service to the community, some are forming into a Leo club serving free breakfast boxes, others are serving at the very footsteps of their homes, raising funds for backpacks and school lunch boxes. To all of you youth out there, keep serving your communities the way you feel best. You, Lions or not, Roar.

Till we meet again in a Roar, take time to meditate, visit family and spend fun moments with friends, watch sunsets and sunrises every day; and meet us in Aug at anyone of our many summer events, I will end the Roar this time without a date in mind.
