Chelsea Robson – Founder & Educator of Skootamatta Nature Academy: “Hi, I’m Chelsea Robson — a mom of five, nature lover, and the heart behind Skootamatta Nature Academy. I grew up right here on Skootamatta Lake, and some of my best memories are of long days spent outside — swimming, hiking, fishing, and just soaking up everything the land had to teach me. From an early age, I found joy in sharing what I knew with others. Starting Skootamatta Nature Academy is my way of bringing a lot of my interests together — my passion for education, my love for the outdoors, and my deep belief that children thrive when they’re connected to the natural world. I want to give kids a space where they can be curious, get messy, ask big questions, and build a real relationship with the land around them. I’m so excited to be creating this space in the beautiful Land O’ Lakes region — the same place that shaped me — and to share it with families who believe, like I do, that nature is one of the best teachers our children will ever have.” For further information, go to our Facebook page or email [email protected] document.getElementById('cloak7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a').innerHTML = ''; var prefix = 'ma' + 'il' + 'to'; var path = 'hr' + 'ef' + '='; var addy7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a = 'skootamattanatureacademy' + '@'; addy7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a = addy7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a + 'outlook' + '.' + 'com'; var addy_text7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a = 'skootamattanatureacademy' + '@' + 'outlook' + '.' + 'co';document.getElementById('cloak7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a').innerHTML += '<a ' + path + '\'' + prefix + ':' + addy7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a + '\'>'+addy_text7eb9ac427e4fbb2efc5245307945421a+'<\/a>'; m

Parham-Tichborne

by Christine Teal and Colleen Steele

There was a community meeting at the Fire Hall in Parham on Saturday morning. Folks from the area were able to voice their input on the Hinchinbrooke Public School site. Suggestions of a Community Centre, Office Sites, Youth Center, buildings pertaining to the Agricultural Society and Parham Fair etc. I know a lot of community members didn't know about this meeting as not everyone is on Facebook or media. We just got our tax bill, why couldn't the notice of the meeting have been put in with this? Not a lot of us older folks are computer literate, and yes, we still should have our input into this important decision.

Yes - and did you also know that last week was "amnesty" at the dump? Where was that notice??

Thinking of you to Shannon Harper, Joey Green, Charlotte Brown and Gordon Crawford.

Sympathy to the Hartwick family on the loss of Lillian Hartwick. Lillian was always the first to get her Christmas card out and could be seen walking along 38 helping to keep the roads clean of garbage. Also sympathy to the Ruttan family.

The congregation of Parham United Church held their monthly soup luncheon after the service.

Don't forget the Sharbot Lake Lions Club is selling 50/50 tickets... I have some on hand if you are interested. Draw is on Canada Day!

The Happy Travellers met last Wednesday. They are selling tickets on 2 small Afghans (lap throws) and a fall basket, looking for your support and we are always looking for new members.

Nice to see and smell the beautiful lilacs! Cherry and apple blossoms are out in full force as well.

Lots of events coming up in the area:

June 1st from 10 to 2 at the Sharbot Lake Outdoor Rink is the 2nd of 5 vendor markets - be sure to stop in and check them out!

There will be a 70th birthday party for David Goodfellow on June 7 from 1-4pm at the united church hall in Parham. Hope to see everyone there!!!

June birthday wishes go out to Tanya Thompson, Randy Vinkle, Tom Lowery, Brandon Morrow, Sharon MacDonald, Paityn Morrow, Landyn Whan, Dorothy Clow, Donna Longmire, Tobias Stencell, Janice Morrow, June St. Pierre, Christina Green, Judy Meeks, Sheri Hannah, Julia Goodfellow, Penny Cota, Patsy Wuinn, John Morrow, Ben Lusk, Penny Ellsworth, Jason Lowery, Alicia Thompson, Donna Ducharme, Denise Neadow, Phillip Smith, Sherry/Cheryl Ferguson, Derek Melkman, Nicole Cole-Godfrey, David Goodfellow, Angie Mallette, Spence LaFaso, Kale Dupuis, Jon Neadow, Kyleigh Teal, Melanie Fox Wisteard, Carrie Woodcock, Darryl Barker, Christie Jones, Kim Teal, Brent Kehow and Vicky Pollok.

Happy Anniversary to Rick & Cathy Goodfellow, and John and Janice Morrow.
