Old world music with a twist = Vinta at MERA

Vinta wowed the sold out house, playing a mix of original and traditional tunes in the balfolk, European folk dance, style of Mid-France. The four members of the group Emilyn Stam, Nathan Smith, John David Williams and Alan Mackie, played intricate arrangements on violins, accordions, stand-up bass and clarinets. They stirred up the emotions of the listeners with bourees, waltzes and schottices, and their mind-expanding music created space and transported the audience. The concert took place at MERA Schoolhouse, in McDonalds Corners Nov 23. Watch for more exciting concerts coming to the schoolhouse in the new year.
