Special Post-Valentine Concert at MERA

Pianist Sarah Hagen will perform at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald's Corners
Pianist Sarah Hagen will perform at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonald's Corners

On Sunday, February 15, at 2pm, the day after Valentine’s Day, pianist Sarah Hagen will present her most recent program: “Lovesick!”, a concert exploring romance and heartbreak in classical music. Through vivid storytelling and the rich music of Satie, Bach, Piazzolla and others, Sarah delves into the love stories (good and bad!) of some of her favourite composers.

An exceptional classical pianist, collaborator, visual artist, comedian, Sarah Hagen is a unique musician on a mission to demystify classical music with a performance style all her own, perhaps inspired as much by Victor Borge as Glenn Gould.

Sarah’s live performances invite audiences into her world of stories and music by presenting a variety of programs such as the Goldberg Variations (her own acclaimed interpretation), Wonder Women! (forgotten women composers) and “Perk up, Pianist! ”(the trials and joys of a touring musician).

Regular tickets are $30 and are available at Ticketsplease.ca. Thanks to the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council, we are able to offer $10 tickets to those 30 years and under, and their ‘guest’. And we offer free childcare during the show. Contact Jan Griffiths at [email protected] to register.

The MERA Schoolhouse is located at 974 Concession Road 9A Dalhousie, McDonald's Corners.
