Flyers Win Silver Stick

After winning the Pembroke Regional Silver Stick tournament in November, the U11 Rep Frontenac Flyers braved challenging weather conditions and travelled to Forest, Ontario, to compete against top teams who qualified from regional tournaments across Ontario and the northern US. The Flyers delivered a dominant performance throughout the weekend, finishing 4–0 in round-robin play before capturing the International Silver Stick Championship with a convincing 5–1 victory in the final.
Strong goaltending, relentless pressure from the forward group, and the most dominant defensive core in the tournament were on full display all weekend. In fact, the Flyers trailed in a game for just 18 seconds over the entire tournament.
Tournament all-stars, selected by the tournament organizers, included Frontenac forwards Lachlyn Sinclair and Charlie Bremner, defenceman Beau Bates, and his brother, goaltender Ben Bates. Selecting the all-star team would have been difficult, as the Flyers relied on outstanding team play from all 16 players on the roster. Both goaltenders delivered exceptional performances, with neither allowing more than two goals in a single game. The Flyers finished the tournament with 25 goals for and just 7 goals against over their five-game championship run.
This success on the international stage reflects the hard work and commitment shown throughout the season. The coaching staff, led by Jamie Seale, consistently emphasizes championship-level effort at every practice and development session.
Frontenac also saw a strong showing from its U15 Rep team at the Forest Finals. After winning their Pembroke Regional tournament, the U15s represented Frontenac earlier in January at the International Finals and narrowly missed a semifinal berth due to tiebreaker rules.
Both teams demonstrated grit, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament, proudly representing the hardworking families of our communities and once again putting Frontenac hockey on the map.
All Flyers teams now turn their attention to the upcoming playoffs and the opportunity to compete at the Ontario Championships.
Good luck, Flyers!
