Lions Club of Land O’ Lakes Roar Late April

Sometimes all we need is an inspiration. Tonight was one that I needed.

Going back. I have been on a dry spell, unable to write those few words that Frontenac News has, over the past 3 years been publishing. The Lions Club of Land O’ Lakes Roar. I got to a point where I was thinking that maybe I don't have it in me anymore to write.

Turns out all I needed was to hear the sounds of laughter, to see the intrigue, and to listen to the stories of a Canadian adventurer, Adam Shoalts, at the Land O’ Lakes Speakers Forum.

He took us on a journey, we paddled, in our minds, in his canoe and travelled from Lake Erie to the Arctic. We saw caribou, moose and even polar bears. What a sight.

But, what actually inspired me to write was a little mantra that he devised to convince himself that the journey, despite the hardships can be exciting and, simply putting it, doable! He convinced himself that canoeing while it rained worked better somehow. The ability to convince himself of that made me think I can convince myself to write; I mean, how easy is my task compared to his.

And with that new found inspiration I will venture forward, fully armed with that sense of "the doable" into "enjoying" the May bugs as we head to the community clean up with the Garden Club on the 9th, and the Lions Yard Sale on the 23rd. And now I can say with certainty:

"Till we meet again in a Roar, get your canoes ready, enjoy the long-awaited sunny days; and meet us at the Spring Market Extravaganza for a shop local morning on the 16th of May.
