Seniors’ Expo Draws Strong Community Support In Inverary

The first annual Seniors’ Expo at the Storrington Lions Hall was a major success on May 19, welcoming seniors, families and community members from across the region for an informative and engaging event focused on health, wellness and aging services.

Hosted by Storrington Lions Club in partnership with Hear Right Canada, the expo featured more than 30 vendors offering information, resources and services tailored to older adults.

Attendees had the opportunity to connect with organizations and businesses specializing in health care, hearing services, senior living, home supports, community programs and wellness resources. Visitors also enjoyed free parking, food and refreshments throughout the afternoon.

One of the highlights of the event was a grand prize draw for a pair of hearing aids valued at more than $7,000, generously provided through Hear Right Canada.

Organizer Holly Brooks, Hearing Instrument Specialist and Co-Owner of Hear Right Canada Kingston East, thanked vendors, volunteers and attendees for helping make the inaugural event such a positive experience.

“You made our first event a success,” Brooks shared in a message following the expo. “The feedback I received from some seniors was that they were happy with the variety of vendors, and impressed with the amount of information they received at the event.”

The strong turnout and positive feedback have organizers already looking ahead to next year’s expo, with hopes of building on the momentum created by this year’s event.

The Seniors’ Expo highlighted the importance of connecting older adults with local services and supports while creating an enjoyable and welcoming community gathering space.
