The Perth 700 Ride For Pancreatic Cancer

On Day 5 of the Perth 700 ride for charity, cyclists arrived at the Cardinal Café mid-morning on May 29 during their 100km (or 100 mile) ride. The cyclists, who were all raising money for different charities, were either on their way up to Snow Road from Westport (the 100km per day cyclists) or the Plevna from Westport (the 100miles per day cyclists). The Day 5 ride started and ended in Westport, but the other 6 loops in the 7-day ride started and ended in Perth.
At either distance, the 7-day ride was an onerous task for participating cyclists. The Perth 700 is an offshoot of the 7 Days in May fundraising event that was run by Pancreatic Cancer Canada. Mia Craig, of Sharbot Lalke, was an integral part of that ride, and when Pancreatic Cancer Canada decided to switch fundraising gears, she joined with the Perth 700, which starts and ends in Perth each day (except for Westport day 5)
Mia raised funds for Pancreatic Cancer Canada during the Perth 700, in honour of her mother, Marnia Mauri-Morsani, who died of Pancreatic Cancer in April of 2021.
