For Whom Doth the Bell Toll?

Villagers in Bellrock may be wondering if they are hearing things these days. There seems to be a bell, pealing out over the village. Is it a ghost?

They aren't imagining things. The tower that houses schoolbell on the 168 year-old Bellrock Community Hall, a former schoolhouse, has been restored and the bell itself refurbished and made functional.

The old tower that housed the bell was in dire need of repairs.

This restoration is the culmination of a project that has been several years in the making and it involved the efforts of many volunteers. Special thanks go out to Dave Stewart, Atkinson Home Hardware, and lots of other helpers.

Events at the hall can now be celebrated by ringing the bell! Come to our Strawberry Social on June 20 to admire the tower, hear the bell, and enjoy strawberries and ice cream. Vendors, Harrowsmith Brewery, barbecue treats and live music also feature at this event.
