Grand Opening of Treasure Chest – Food Bank

The re-imagining of a storied commercial building in Sharbot Lake is complete, thanks to Community Living North Frontenac. The original home of the Red and White Grocery store, became a Stedman’s store for decades, before it was occupied by the St. Lawrence College Employment Centre.

After the employment centre closed last year, Community Living moved their offices there, and when they moved to the former Central Frontenac Township office, instead of leaving their lease, they decided to turn the building into a community space.

This led them to create a space for the North and Central Frontenac Food Bank, and to augment the Treasure Trunk Thrift store on Road 38 with the Treasure Chest, a used clothing store.

The grand opening was held on Saturday, June 14.

The Treasure Chest is open Thursday to Saturday from 10am -4pm. Check out The Treasure Trunk and Treasure Chest on Facebook for new items as they become available.
