Storrington Lions Club celebrates another outstanding Canada Day

Storrington Lions Club welcomed hundreds of residents and visitors to its community hall on July 1 for another memorable Canada Day celebration filled with music, family fun, community spirit and Canadian pride.

Held from 11 am to 4 pm, the annual event offered something for everyone. Families enjoyed live entertainment by Jeff Code and the Silver Wings Band, a crowd-pleasing magic show, balloon making, face painting, children's games, bouncy castles, delicious food and refreshments, and the ever-popular South Frontenac Fire and Rescue foam experience, where children and adults alike cooled off while creating lasting summer memories.

New this year was a soccer tournament hosted by the Storrington Minor Soccer Club, which attracted enthusiastic young players and added another exciting activity to an already full day of festivities.

One of the day's highlights was the Storrington Lions Club's 50/50 draw. Congratulations to Kevin Poole, who took home the winning prize of $2,450.

Throughout the day, the grounds were filled with smiling faces, laughter and neighbours reconnecting while celebrating Canada's birthday together. The event reflected the strong community spirit that has made the Storrington Lions Club's Canada Day celebration a tradition for so many local families.

"The best part of the day was seeing so many happy faces," said Storrington Lions Club President Catherine Reynolds. "Our Canada Day celebration is about bringing the community together, and once again our volunteers, partners and supporters made that happen. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success."

Storrington Lions Club extends its sincere appreciation to the Township of South Frontenac for its continued support, as well as to South Frontenac Fire and Rescue, Storrington Minor Soccer Club, Jeff Code and the Silver Wings Band, all of the entertainers, volunteers and sponsors who helped make the celebration possible.

The club also thanks the many Lions members, family members and community volunteers whose countless hours of planning and hard work ensured another outstanding Canada Day celebration.

With another successful event now in the books, Storrington Lions Club looks forward to continuing its tradition of serving the community and bringing people together through events that celebrate the spirit of South Frontenac.
