Swinging Into Support: SFCSC Charity Golf Tournament a Success

On June 5, a field of 30 teams gathered at Rivendell Golf Club in Verona for the 16th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of Southern Frontenac Community Services (SFCSC).

Under sunny skies and warm temperatures, golfers of all skill levels enjoyed a memorable day on the course while raising vital funds to support seniors’ programs and services. The proceeds help ensure residents can access programs that promote independence, well-being, social connection, and a stronger sense of belonging. Events like the Charity Golf Tournament play an important role in helping SFCSC continue its mission of supporting individuals and families across South Frontenac.

Laughter, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to giving back created an atmosphere that reflected the strong sense of community that makes South Frontenac such a special place to live.

The tournament continues to be one of SFCSC's largest annual fundraising events, with this year's event raising just over $15,000 in support of seniors’ programs and services. Beyond the golf, participants had the opportunity to compete for prizes and enjoy a delicious meal while connecting with friends, neighbours, and fellow supporters.

This year's tournament held special significance as participants honoured the memory of Joe Bowes, who was instrumental in organizing the golf fundraiser event for more than 15 years. Joe was a passionate advocate and dedicated supporter whose enthusiasm and commitment played an important role in the tournament's growth and success. Joe will continue to be remembered for years to come.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to Myers Design & Build, one of our Platinum Sponsors, for their generous support of this year's tournament and the important work of SFCSC. As a locally owned company, Myers Design & Build has demonstrated its dedication to strengthening the South Frontenac community. Their partnership played an important role in the success of this year's event, and we are grateful for their continued support of SFCSC.

"We are proud to support Southern Frontenac Community Services and the important work they do and services they offer to enhance the lives of local residents," said Hannah, owner of Myers Design & Build. "Community is at the heart of everything we do, so giving back is always a no-brainer. SFCSC has touched on our family personally and for that, we are incredibly grateful. Count us in year after year!"

SFCSC would also like to extend its sincere appreciation to the Township of South Frontenac for its generous grant support of this year's tournament. Through its commitment to strengthening community initiatives and enhancing the well-being of residents, the Township's contribution helped support the success of the event and the important programs and services SFCSC provides throughout the region. This partnership reflects a shared dedication to building a vibrant, connected, and supportive community for all.

This tournament would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, golfers, and community partners. Their generosity, dedication, and community spirit made this event possible and will have a lasting impact on the lives of seniors and families throughout South Frontenac. SFCSC extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this year's tournament such a fun and successful day.

SFCSC looks forward to welcoming everyone back for another great day on the course next year. Save the date: June 4, 2027.
