On Saturday, July 25, Friends of the Salmon River invites everyone to celebrate the beauty and importance of the Salmon River Headwaters in Arden. The Salmon is a very healthy system mostly due to the huge complex of streams and wetlands that compose the tremendous headwaters.

This community event will include:

9 am: an optional old rail trail walk led by staff from Quinte Conservation.

10 am: a short Presentation about the beauty and significance of our Headwaters, and

10:20 am: an open, round table discussion about how we can help conserve our watershed and our landscape. Led by the Land Conservancy of KFLA and the Nature Conservancy of Canada who can answer pertinent questions.

The Hall will open at 9 am with an exhibit of local photos, a loon display, and local artwork. Come for morning coffee and conversation.

Members of local Lake Associations will be there; take this opportunity to connect with friends and neighbours to pursue conservation efforts where you live.

The Kennebec Hall (Community Centre) is on 5998 Arden Rd. Refreshments will be served, the event is free, and all are welcome.

Friends of the Salmon River is a community group dedicated to the protection of the Salmon River watershed, recognizing its natural beauty and pristine features.
