New Chiropractor in Frontenac County
Dr. Cherie Lafreniere has been a practicing chiropractor for 28 years, starting her practice as soon as she graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1998.
She set up a practice in Midland, and worked there for 22 years with her husband Michael. She took a break at that time to help her ailing father, who was living in Mexico, until he passed.
After that, they moved to French River, near Sudbury, and she set up a practice. When her son was becoming established with the OPP in Kanata, they decided they wanted to head Eastern Ontario.
“Things happened for us a lot more quickly than we planned, because when we listed our house, it sold in 5 days,” she said, in a phone interview this week.
They soon found a home on Elbow Lake at Parham, and Cherie has been continuing her practice in French River all summer, with a condensed work week, while Michael has taken a job locally with Community Living.
“I have been winding down my practice in French River and I approached both Dr. Gian Kaillon at Sharbot Lake Chiropractic and Wellness and Alli Montgomery at Back to Health Wellness in Inverary and they were both interested.”
Cherie will be finishing up in French River this week, and starting her Frontenac County practice immediately, in both Sharbot Lake and Inverary.
“When I approached Gian, she thought that the way she practices, using the Proadjuster and Pro Soft machines, was a good compliment to the physical manipulation techniques that I use, and with my focus on pregnancy and pediatrics, she sees a good fit there.
“Allie, at Back to Health, is looking to expand the range of services offered there, and there is no chiropractor working out of the clinic so she was welcoming as well. For me, living in Parham is a pretty good commute to both offices, certainly better than the 12-hour return drive to French River.”
Cherie is looking forward to helping patients in both communities. Chiropractic services are not covered under OHIP but are covered under some workplace health plans.
