The Frontenac Holistic Health Fair started out as a one-day event a few years ago that was put on by Ellie Steele of Evolution Wellness. After that first event, a community of varied practitioners emerged, and out of that the Frontenac Holistic Health Collective was created.

The fair is now the annual gathering of the collective, and an opportunity for concentrated outreach to the public, complete with special events and a wide range of booths, offering products and services.

The promo posted on tickettailor.com outlines what is on offer at the fair on Saturday, September 26 from 10 am-3pm at the Storrington Centre.

“Come and learn about natural and alternative therapies that can improve your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being such as Reiki, Holistic Nutrition, Sound Therapy, Spiritual Growth and Healing, Aromatherapy, Herbology, Hypnosis, Ayurvedic medicine, Pilates, Massage, Homeopathy, Energy and Frequency Medicine, Movement, Acupuncture and much more, from the experts in your local community.”

The fair offers something for everyone. Those who are new to holistic health and wellness, and those who have been on the natural health path for a long time.

There will be free offerings at the various booths throughout the day, and healthy food from a food truck, as well as four panel discussions.

The first panel is a Qijong session offered by Marilyn Picard, from 11am-11:30am. Qigong means energy in motion. It involves using breathwork, relaxation and simple movements to change body chemistry. No experience is necessary.

The second panel is an expert discussion on the holistic approach to menopause from 1:45pm–12:15pm. Panelists include Ashley Howitt, a holistic health coach, Barbara Landrey, a certified Pilates instructor and herbalist, and Manon Vermette, a registered massage therapist and yoga instructor.

The third panel is an expert discussion on the holistic approach to gut health, from 12:45-1:15. It features Shelly Sayle-Sudall, a registered psychotherapist, Jacquie Howorth, an ayurvedic practitioner, and Stephanie Potter, an herbal practitioner. They will provide three distinct perspectives on the Body, Mind and Spirit approach to improving gut health. Hippocrates said, "all disease begins in the gut".

The fourth and final panel is an expert discussion on the holistic approach to mental health issues, from 1:45pm-2:15 pm. This discussion features Ellie Steele, EFT practitioner, Shelly Sayle-Udall again, and Brooke Alexander, a Reiki practitioner.

There is no admission and pre-registration to the health fair is not required but those who pre-register will receive an extra ballot for one of the draws taking place, throughout the day.
