Verona Car Show September 19

The Verona Car Show is 31 years old this week, and in its current incarnation as fundraising juggernaut, the show has averaged almost $14,000 in donations to local organisations and charities per year.

The secret sauce behind all that success is a combination of attracting the specialty car community with a fun time and lots of custom trophies. This ensures that volunteers will show by splitting the proceeds among local organisations, on the basis of the number of volunteers they bring with them, and offering a variety of popular events, in addition to the display of vehicles.

This year is no exception. From the return of the Trevor Walsh Group and the Harrowsmith Brewing Company to an ever-expanding indoor vendor market in the hall, and the kids area, the Verona Car Show makes sure even the lesser vintage car enthusiasts in the family, are happy to come out to Verona on Saturday (September 19).

This year, just before the awards are announced at about 3, there will be a new event, a live “mini” auction of three paintings that have been donated to the show, at approximately 2:45pm. A silent auction is also on tap to end at about the same time.

It all gets under way at 8am on Saturday, when the show, as well as the Lions Hall breakfast canteen, open to the public.
