The word “journey” can mean the physical act of traveling, and also the personal path an individual follows over time.

For those who appreciate taking a journey, the Fall 2026 North Frontenac Back Roads Studio Tour offers the best of both worlds – the chance to hear about the different paths taken by the many talented artists and fine craftspeople that call North Frontenac home, and the opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the community in which so many have chosen to live.

Come join us the weekend of September 26-27 (10am-4pm daily) and visit 32 artists at 20 studio stops located along the winding back roads of North Frontenac. Scattered throughout the studios, you will find photography and alternate photography processes, a variety of glass and woodworking mediums, fibre and fabric arts, pottery, watercolour, acrylic and multi-media art, knife making, jewellery and natural products, and unique hand-crafted goods made from salvaged products, among others.

You will meet well-established artists and fine craftspeople, as well as new and emerging ones who may be early in their artistic journey. Regardless, each artist is ready to share their unique story.

And the beauty of this studio tour is that you can decide the route, and which studios and artists to visit. There are a map and directions to guide you but not set path. Make it a weekend or a day trip. Visit all the studios, or only a few. It is completely up to you on this self guided tour.
