Sharbot Lake Farmers Market Harvest Feast

Since the reboot of the Sharbot Lake Farmers Market in 2022 it has become a benchmark for the summer season in Sharbot Lake. Not only has the number of vendors participating each week increased but through fostering relationships with local community groups it has become an inclusive event welcoming all every Saturday morning through the summer months on the shores of Sharbot Lake

With the expansion of our community initiatives the Market has seen a steady increase in the number of customers that visit weekly and further realized that there is a desire for people to learn more about where their food comes from and experience it in new ways.

The introduction and, shortly following, success of our Farm-to-Table BBQ’s featuring food from our LOCAL farmers, highlights creative and interesting combinations that strive to expand peoples understanding of what local and seasonal food offers. Capitalizing on the Success of the Farm-to-Table bbqs the Market wanted to do something different where people could experience more variety of what our local farmers market has to offer.

In the spring the Sharbot Lake Farmers Market applied for and received a grant from Frontenac Business Services to create a harvest event showcasing our growers & makers and highlighting the LOCAL food found in Frontenac County. The inaugural Harvest Feast & Night Market hosted by the Sharbot Lake Farmers Market is happening on October 24th from 4-8pm at Oso Hall in Sharbot Lake. It is an event they hope to become a yearly tradition where you can enjoy a casual meal while shopping your favourite vendors & familiar faces onsite !

The Market has teamed up with Elisa Corrigan from Rampant Kitchen to curate a 3 course meal of seasonal produce and local meat that encompasses all the food and flavours you can find every week at the Farmers Market ! The menu includes a variety of items featuring everything from fresh greens and honey ginger glazed meatballs, to roasted squash and rabbit pot pie. The Kick and Push Brewery and Winding Rd Coffee will both on site offering beverages and the menu includes as many items as possible from all of the Markets Farmers including market favourites Conboy Maple, Fen Valley Farm, Whan Farms, MiddletonNeadow Farm & more. Local musician Jonathan Jones will be on site to set the mood while you mingle amongst our artisan vendors, sip on a beverage from Kick & Push Brewing Company & enjoy a delicious meal on an autumn evening in beautiful Sharbot Lake.
