Storrington Lions Prepare for a Busy Fall Season of Community Events

The Storrington Lions Club is gearing up for a busy fall season, with a variety of events planned to bring the community together, support local organizations, and celebrate the upcoming holiday season. From Halloween festivities to a traditional breakfast with Santa, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The fall lineup begins on October 31 with the club’s Second Annual Halloween Dance, featuring Texas Tuxedo. The evening promises plenty of entertainment, including a costume contest, a light buffet, a cash bar, and ample parking. Tickets are $15 when purchased before October 17 and $20 thereafter. The Lions are pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Storrington Firefighters Association. Community members are encouraged to come out, enjoy a fun-filled evening, and support the dedicated volunteers who help keep the community safe.

On November 14, the Lions will host a Spaghetti Dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Storrington Lions Hall. For $15 per person, guests can enjoy spaghetti with homemade meat or vegetarian sauce, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Gluten-free options will also be available, ensuring that more members of the community can join in the meal. The dinner offers a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to gather over good food while supporting the Lions and their community initiatives.

Holiday shopping takes centre stage on November 28 when the club holds its Annual Christmas Market, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 40 local vendors are expected to fill the hall, offering a wide selection of handmade crafts, baked goods, artisan products, and unique gift ideas. The market provides shoppers with an opportunity to find those special Christmas presents while supporting local artisans, bakers, and craftspeople.

The season concludes with one of the club’s most anticipated events, Breakfast with Santa, on December 5. This free community event invites families to enjoy a festive morning filled with Christmas crafts, a visit with Santa, and a hearty breakfast featuring pancakes served with homemade maple syrup, bacon, eggs, and sausage.

The Storrington Lions are pleased to partner with South Frontenac Township for this event, with members of the Inverary Firefighters Association also lending a hand to serve breakfast. In keeping with the spirit of giving, a designated area will be available for donations to the local food pantry. Community members are encouraged to contribute if they are able, helping ensure that neighbours in need receive support during the holiday season.

Through these events, the Storrington Lions continue their commitment to service, community involvement, and bringing people together. Whether attending a dance, sharing a meal, shopping locally, or enjoying a festive morning with family, residents have many opportunities to participate and make a difference.

The club welcomes everyone to join in the fall festivities and thanks the community for its continued support. As the Lions motto reminds us, “We Serve.”
