Colour the Course Raises Over $2,300 for Local Christmas Programs

More than 80 participants, ranging from two years old to their mid 70s, came together at NINE North golf course in Cloyne on October 10 for the first Colour the Course Walk/Run.
The event raised over $2,300 through registration fees, raffle ticket sales and donations, with final totals still being tallied. Proceeds will support the Kaladar Barrie Fire Department Toy Drive and Land O’ Lakes Community Services Christmas Hampers, helping local families this holiday season.
The event was made possible by Brandon and his team at NINE North, who welcomed the idea and opened their course for a day of community fun. Participants walked or ran through colourful powder stations before enjoying lunch together.
Local businesses and volunteers supported every stage of the event. Martins Bus Lines provided shuttle transportation, Lakeside Designs made the event shirts, DMC Contracting supplied swag bags, and Move Better Health & Performance led the warmup. Cooks Kustoms sponsored the start line, while Econorent Equipment Rentals & Sales provided power.
Colour station sponsors included NOS Tree Services, Anita Haircut, Mama Bear Micro Bake House, Kavaleer Smallhold, From The Six Glassworks, Quinte Builders Hardware and YourWay Home Hardware, with help from the Old Pharts and Golden Girls. Numerous businesses and individuals also supported the event through finish line sponsorships.
Happy More supplied balloon columns, the Cloyne Recreation Club sponsored drinks, and Brandon grilled hotdogs at NINE North. StoryLake Quilting donated a handmade quilt for the fundraising raffle. Nick Cooke and Kevin Smart of the Kaladar Barrie Fire Department were on site for medical support and shared a fire prevention display.
Organizers Teri, Naomi, Stephanie, Abbi, Andrew, Heather and Bri extend their heartfelt thanks to every participant, sponsor and volunteer who helped turn a new idea into meaningful support for local families.
Planning is already underway for Colour the Course 2027
