Royal Canadian Legion Branch 425 in Sharbot Lake needs your help! We have been having Friday night dinners as a fund raiser for our Legion for a number of years. Folks are getting older and getting tired. We have a membership of close to 100 members this year. We need you to volunteer, you don’t have to be a member to Volunteer. We will be starting up in September 2023 and usually end in May.
Here is how it can work (details to be negotiate with volunteers): one or two people (couples work well) decide what they want to cook. An example, chicken, potatoes, vegetable, and a salad.
Our President Bob Olmstead is also our current kitchen person, he would order the food and ensure that all the food was in the kitchen the week of your dinner. He would also assist in determining the amounts needed from his past experiences.
There are volunteers already in place who will come in on Friday morning to peel potatoes, carrots, etc. We also have volunteers that will come in the night of the dinner to help serve and do the cleanup and dishes.
If you would like to give this a try or if you have questions before you make the decision to help out, please contact President Bob at 613-279-2263 or Fran at 613-453-8146, or call the Legion and leave a message and someone will call you back, 613-279-2659.
Give it a try and if it isn’t for you, we will understand!!
