While the Sharbot Lake Beach wasn’t quite as packed as Canada Day, there was still a considerable crowd Sunday (July 7) for the first of what organizers hope will become a regular occurrence — Music in the Park.
It was essentially an older crowd, with most singing along to the music of The Reasons, who played songs most of the audience learned when they were very new.
Memories flashed back to Bill Haley & His Comets, Johnny Rivers, Neil Diamond, a nostalgic trip to carefree days of ’50s and ’60s rock’n’roll.
Many enjoyed a pint and/or a hot dog as the Sharbot Lake & District Lions Club hosted the band, beer tent and several vendors on a beautiful sunny summer Sunday afternoon.
