There's a Highway of Heroes that leads straight to Heaven's door / It's for a number of folks that won't be walking with us no more

There's Uncles Willie-John, Hub, Clifford and Bill too / Peter, Ron, Ryan and George to name just a few

There's Ann, Don, Mel and Bob who was blown to bits / Tom, Jack, Fred, James, Dan and young Fritz

It's also for Allan, Doug and Maggie for her smile so sweet / For Ross, Roy and for Lloyd who lived up our street

It's for Sandra, Cathy, Sharon and her wife Carrie / It's for Art, Sam, Fred, Lee and his partner Jerry

Its also for Pete, Greg, Charlie and his dog Rover / For Dave, Sue, Joe and Mary Jane who lived two streets over

It's for all those Moms, Dads, Husbands, and wives / It's for the pilots, the sergeants and privates who lost their lives

Its for all those people who did their part / They gave everything and fought will all of their heart

We cheer as the parade passes, our flags fly high as we wave / We're proud of you, our heroes, for you were all so brave

You endured so much pain, hardships and strife / Thank you for your service for sacrificing your life

Your final journey on the 'Highway of Heroes' is almost at an end / We wave farewell to you as you go around the last bend

Our tears roll ever so easily covering our face / We thank God for all of His mercy and grace

Our Hopes and our Prayers are for a much safer world / Where we all may live in Harmony and Peace, every boy and girl

There's another road you must travel called 'The Highway of Love' / It stretches for miles across God's Heaven above

For there it doesn't matter the race, the gender or the colour of your skin/ God just opens his arms and welcomes you back in.
