North Frontenac’s Summerfest drew over 600 people to the Clar-Mil Hall grounds last Saturday (July 20) to enjoy great music, interesting exhibits and delicious food for all taste buds! One of the super attractions had to be the dunk tank hosted by Ross Ranch & Contracting. Many people stepped up into the tank for a dunking, making for great entertainment. And the dunk tank raised over $1000 for Clarendon Central Public School activities. The chainsaw carving area was popular, as was the axe throwing event. Sandy Thiel won a firewood bench from Lonnie Watkins. Meet the Falcons drew a large crowd as well. Live music was a big feature, with sets by Calvin Bakelaar, Dominic Simone “Ompah Don”, followed by a full show by D-Tours. There were also two vendor villages, one indoors and one outdoors, pulled pork from Cota’s Mobil Catering, the Red Barn Zone and the Lions.
Organisers Cyndy Bonello, Betty Hunter and John Inglis worked hard to bring Summerfest to a new level of popularity this year, aided of course by a warm, sunny day.
