The cast and crew have been working overtime in preparation for NFLT’s Dracula, coming to Oso Hall in Sharbot Lake November 6th to 9th.

The title character Dracula is being played by veteran Greg Morris. Greg saw an NFLT production many years ago and it inspired him to go on to play in over a dozen productions both at NFLT and in Perth. John Stephen, another veteran, is cast as Professor Van Helsing. John has been in over 20 plays here at NFLT and in Perth. They always come prepared and their professionalism is a great asset.

Joelle Parr has done a total of 11 plays, 7 with NFLT. She is currently a member of our executive and we are happy to see her carry on the tradition of theatre in Sharbot Lake. We last saw Marcie Asselstine in Turtle Crossings and are excited to see her back as one of our Vampires.. She has been in half a dozen NFLT productions. Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious.

Hope Andrew, our student executive member, is playing the part of another Vampire as well as Sister Agatha. We do hope she does not get her roles confused! She has been active in a number of our community events as well as our major productions.

Pam Giroux, playing Mrs. Westerna, goes way back, as far back as our original production, playing the title role in Alice in Wonderland and she and her family have been in countless productions ever since. She is inspired by working with and watching the young people who will take NFLT into the future. One of which is Sarah Deline who plays Lucy. This is her second production with NFLT after debuting in Screwball Comedy. Sarah is in Grade 12 at GREC and was inspired to try out after seeing Ciarra’s coming Home, a recent NFLT production. At Sarah’s suggestion Blake Cryer auditioned and took the role of Dr. Seward. Blake is involved in dramatics at GREC and won the Tyler McEwen Memorial award and is another young actor we are excited to see the potential in.

Johnathon Wisteard and Taylor Trussell take on multiple roles in Dracula. Both have previous experience with NFLT. The Legacy/Zierer family: Lily, Erik and Alder all have a flare for the dramatic – from drumming, makeup and singing to acting. Led by Lily they took on the Children’s Workshop this summer, a great success. Alder plays John Harker, one of the lead roles in Dracula, while Erik plays the Ship’s captain and helps out backstage. Lily scares us all with her portrayal of Hanna Renfrew. They are rapidly becoming a big part of our Company
