Every so often, someone comes into your life and makes an impact. For me, I remember when I first met Shae Alton at a Diner's Club and her bright smile was warm and inviting. She spoke with eloquence as we discussed the matters of the day and she had a genuine interest in who I was and how I was. From then on, we would run into each other at various events and it was like coming home to family as we would hug and chatter about this and that. I was shocked when I heard of her recent hospitalization, and then gutted when I heard of her quick decline and then passing this past week. I am only consoled knowing we had recently spoken, hugged, and shared a communal meal amongst friends and neighbours, our last it seems....I am at a loss for words. I send my heartfelt condolences to everyone whose lives she touched. I will remember her kindness and grace...she was truly, one in a million!
