It’s spiritually wonderful to visit with folks like Kandra Kelsey and her daughter coming to refresh flowers at the cemetery in preparation for June 16 cemetery service on site with Rev. Kaitlyn Ostrander at 2. Chairs are provided and the rain location is the church. Also visited with the Gaylord/Rafuse/Sorenson families at the burial of the late Mona (Gaylord) Rafuse including her grandchildren Kim, Kelly, Krista, Tammy, Marty, Rob, Tony, Vikki, Amy, Michael, Peggy, Emma and Kevin, along with Richard Thornton, Earla and Jerry Horton, Doug Bridgen, Dan and Debbie (Gaylord) Nowell.
We also attended the funeral of and offer sympathy to the family of the late Lorraine (Clark) Newton of Bowmanville who died this past week. Some from away included Brian and Sherry Ferguson of Napanee, Floyd Shorts accompanied by Lori and Melinda Shorts of Lindsay; Grant and Lorraine Armstrong of Brockville.
Only two more sleeps until the Henderson United Church yard sale this Sat. June 8 at the Hall from 8 - noon. We’ve got it all and then some- so pop on over since the whole town will be there to visit and share a laugh or two.
Sincere thanks to the many volunteers who cut cemetery grass, clean and maintain the church and hall and set up special events like our up-coming yard sale that keeps our community and church on the map and in our hearts. We love you all to pieces. Our hall is jointly managed by the church and the Municipality whom we thank for fixing up our toilet- we can now flush away with a flourish!!
