On Friday June 26, 2020 just after 10:30 p.m. the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Sydenham Road. Officers attended the scene and located the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested and taken to detachment for testing. Further investigation revealed a quantity of suspected cocaine.
Lucas HINCH, age 22 from Kingston Ontario, has been charged with the following offences:
Operation While Impaired - 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code
Operation While Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) - 320.14(1)(b)
Possession of a schedule one substance- cocaine - 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in Kingston. He was also given a 90 day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
